A Complete Partnership to Support Your OpenText and Tungsten Automation Solutions
Sep 30, 2024
We all share the same challenge: efficiently managing our business data, especially SAP data. To complement its range of managed and professional services, oXya formed a strategic partnership with Aerow, focusing on Smart Contents.
The partnership aims to address your specific needs for OpenText solutions for SAP, as well as Tungsten Automation (ex-Kofax) solutions. In this article, we explore the advantages of these solutions and the complementary expertise involved.
Why Complement Your SAP Solutions with the OpenText Suite?
Over the past 10 years, OpenText has experienced significant growth thanks to its enterprise content management (ECM) software. This Canadian software publisher offers solutions for generating, analyzing, centralizing and classifying different types of documents, from invoices to videos, documentation and technical drawings. In short, it’s a true Swiss army knife for managing your business documents!
SAP and OpenText solutions offer an interesting complementarity by combining SAP business processes with ECM functionalities. In concrete terms, this brings you the following benefits:
- Improved business processes
- Quicker access to information across corporate content
- Addition of numerous efficiency-enhancing features
Invoice Processing: A Turnkey Solution with VIM from OpenText or PDAP/APS from Tungsten Automation
Our collaboration began with a shared desire to help SAP clients optimize invoice processing using OpenText VIM (Vendor Invoice Management) or PDAP/APS (Process Director Accounts Payable/Account Payable Software) solutions.
Automation is at the heart of this solution, which helps clients dematerialize the receipt of invoices from their suppliers, with features such as:
- Automatic reading of your invoices (from header/footer to detail lines);
- Invoice content analysis and intelligent classification;
- Setting up rules for automated reconciliation of your invoices with the corresponding purchase orders in SAP (in particular to check correspondence between amounts);
- Implementation of reports with key performance indicators to help you better manage your cash flow (average invoice processing time, duplicate processing, etc.).
oXya and Aerow pursue a shared vision: to simplify the implementation of these solutions for their clients. As well as complementing each other, Aerow contributes its expertise in OpenText and Tungsten Automation solutions, by establishing the product’s functional architecture. For its part, oXya provides the technical infrastructure, from cloud architecture to file systems (blob storages).
This enables us to extend oXya Managed Services to encompass the entire OpenText VIM or Tungsten Automation, ensuring our clients receive maintenance for optimal operational performance.
We are thus able to provide a unified service offering and expert support, combining the strengths of both teams: on the one hand, the proactivity of oXya’s supervision solutions, and on the other, Aerow’s rapid intervention in level 3 functional support to intervene and provide corrective action.
The Importance of SAP Data Archiving
Over the years, corporate data can accumulate exponentially. To avoid uncontrolled growth, archiving becomes essential when using SAP as an ERP (SAP ECC or SAP S/4HANA).
OpenText offers several archiving solutions specifically designed for SAP:
- OpenText Core Archive for SAP Solutions
- OpenText Archiving and Document Access for SAP
- OpenText Content Server
The benefits of reducing the size of your databases are numerous:
1. Reduced data storage costs: By making the database lighter, you reduce the platform costs required to run it. This is particularly true for SAP HANA Platform Edition databases, where data is loaded into RAM.
2. Improved ERP resilience: A more controlled database size reduces RTO in the event of a major incident (e.g. a crash or corruption).
3. Easier migration to SAP S/4HANA: To migrate lightly and reduce costs linked to server size.
4. Seamless integration: OpenText links SAP and archived data with an interface integrated into SAP. Users can easily access archived documents.
Our recommendation from oXya is to always prepare your SAP RISE migrations or SAP S/4HANA conversation with upstream data archiving projects. This not only optimizes your platform costs, but also reduces the level of risk on your major transformation project (reduced downtime).
In addition to archiving, the OpenText xECM module also enables documents to be stored, so that the right data can be retrieved at the right time. Whether it’s supplier-related documents, spare parts, procedures or anything else, this extension lets you find a specific document more easily, and without leaving the Fiori interface.
For you, this concerted effort offers a single point of contact with a single service offering, with 3 objectives: agility, speed of execution and better management of your data.
An Opening to Artificial Intelligence
Document management is becoming increasingly important today with the introduction of artificial intelligence (AI) tools into our organizations. To make good use of AI, data must be structured, secure and easily accessible. OpenText solutions facilitate connections through advanced semantic search, enabling you to locate critical documents (securely) using natural language.
The synergy between oXya and Aerow allows us to offer you a unified and complete solution for your SAP applications. Whether it’s invoice processing, data archiving or process optimization, we cover your needs with state-of-the-art expertise.
